Solid state drive issues
I have a Dell mini 9 with a solid state drive that I have successfully installed Windows 7, Ubuntu 11.x, SIFT and various other products on.
I do see the LiveCD menu options for the CAINE CD and can choose an option.
In booting from the CAINE LiveCD I get the following, regardless of whether some or all of the above are installed or if the drive has been completely wiped (all partitions removed)...
BusyBox v 1.13.3 (Ubuntu 1:1/13/3-1ubuntu11) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.
(initramfs) Unable to find a medium containing a live file system
This same CAIN LiveCD works absolutely fine for installation into a VirtualBox VM.
Any recommendations on how to make the USB installer install CAINE on this SSD ?
The same USB stick has been used to install Ubuntu 11.x and Windows 7 without issue so the USB drive is recognized.
Thanks in advance...

Re: Solid state drive issues
Hi,
this seems a classic problem of cd-rom...did you check the hash code? is the same of that written on the Caine's web site?
Are you using the cd-rom release of Caine, burning the ISO ?
Did you try with NBCaine?
Remember if you want a pendrive version of Caine you have to use only NBCaine, because if you try to make a pendrive release starting from ISO ...it won't work!
Thanks
bye

Thanks for the quick reply
Looks like this is a case of RTFM on my part
I have not tried NBCaine and since this is a solid state drive on a netbook with CAINE on a USB stick it seems like you may have indeed answered my question.
Going to get NBCaine now and will reply back with my results. Nothing more annoying than someone asking for help, getting recommendations and never replying back.
Thanks !
