Using Scalpel and output space Empty Using Scalpel and output space

Post  drummelbummel Fri Sep 09, 2011 5:07 pm

Hello,

i tried to recover files from an 320 GB HD.

The destination directory was about the same size as the source disk.

In step 2 at about 3% the destination run out of space. I would understand the problem if i were about 80% or more.

I wonder about what size for the destination is needed???

Could not find any valuable info or documentation for this.

Regards

G.

Hi drummelbummel,

Were you using live Caine, meaning from a boot disc? A Caine boot disc is limited by the amount of RAM in the system. Do perform a scalpel file recovery, you need to attach an external disk, mount it read/write, and place your output directory on the external device.

If this is not your circumstance, please describe it further and we will see what we can do to get you to a successful outcome.
